What do the Major Arcana Tarot cards tell us in a reading?

Major arcana cards indicate that the seeker is in the flow when it comes to where their lives are heading. This flow can be so strong that the seeker feels as if they have little control. The more Major arcana cards in a reading and the stronger the flow. I find that when many Major arcana cards show up in a reading the seeker’s spirit guides and angels are working hard behind the scenes to take the seeker to where they need to be to accomplish something. The Major arcana cards are stepping-stones to help the Seeker accomplish what they set out to accomplish in this lifetime.

    Hi,
I asked if my ex and i would reunite in a 3 card spread – past, present, future.
    Past – death
    Present – page of wands
    Future – 6 of cups
    Could this be a yes?

  2. Inger Bråthen October 5, 2016 at 7:24 pm

Death in the past position can mean the ending of your relationship was unavoidable…6 of cups in the future can mean you will be in each other’s life….I recommend you do the Estranged lovers spread…this spread looks at why it ended, if you are compatible, and if you will reunite….You can find it here: http://eepurl.com/ciH6zj

  3. Emma October 6, 2016 at 11:57 am

    Hi,

I asked if this guy I’m seeing & I would ever have a relationship, in a 4 card cross spread (plus one as my friend’s mother thought me to do). I believe she said the first card represents ‘you’ in the situation, the second represents ‘him’, the third represent our current situation, the forth represents the outcome/result and fifth optional one represents a ‘confirmation’ of the outcome/advice.

    I pulled 5 cards from the major arcanes & I got;

    1- The high pristess
    2- The judgement
    3- The hierophant
    4- The fool
    5- The star

Think there’s chance for us? Should I go with the flow or have a talk with him about the futur?

  4. Inger Bråthen October 6, 2016 at 3:17 pm

Hi, Emma. I recommend to do the same spread with also the minor arcana cards and compare the layouts. The cards you got denote a lot of unpredictable energy between you, and you will not know where you stand, or what will happen next. The minor arcana cards will show you how this will unfold in day to day situations….I don’t think now is the best time to talk about the future, however, the minor arcana will tell you more about the Why now is not such a good time….. Let me know what cards you get….:)

  5. Emma October 7, 2016 at 3:30 am

Thanks! Doing the same spread with the minor arcana cards, asking the same question ‘Will I have a relationship with this man?’ and I got:
    1- Eight of pentacles
    2- Knight of pentacles
    3- King of swords
    4- Page of pentacles
    5- Ace of wands

    What are these cards suggesting?

  6. Inger Bråthen October 7, 2016 at 4:33 am

Hi, you are getting a lot of court cards which often mean you are in the same soul family, but because there is a lack of cups, then a romantic relationship could be blocked. Page of pentacles where Fool was, suggests there will be a focus on caring for something new, a new project or a study. Ace of wands where the Star was, confirms this by saying you will both be very focused on your futures, but more as your individual futures, as you are both very gifted people….

  7. Emma October 7, 2016 at 1:09 pm

Does that mean there’s no hope for a relationship? Should I wait & take it easy or just forget about it?

  8. Inger Bråthen October 7, 2016 at 5:16 pm

There is no such thing as no hope, but the cards say it is most likely a no…or it can be a timing issue….:)

  9. lynne November 11, 2016 at 5:52 am

Hi, I asked a relationship question how long will it last with new boyfriend.

    Four of cups
    six of arrows
    grace
    King of Arrows
    King of Slaves
    Sacrifice
    Three of cups

  10. Inger Bråthen November 11, 2016 at 5:56 am

Hi, Lynne. What spread did you use? Did the card positions have certain meanings as well?

  11. Laura November 13, 2016 at 1:25 pm

Hi , I did the Celtic Cross spread about me n my ex
    1-the emperor
    2- Knight of wands
3- (which was beneath me) hangman
4-(in front of me) the Fool
    5-(above me) 6 coins reverse
6-(behind me) ace of swords reverse

    Last four
    7-(Bottom one going up) Lovers
    8- the hierophant
    9-knight of swords
    10-6 of wands

Question about my ex and I and if we will get back together

  12. Inger Bråthen November 13, 2016 at 3:35 pm

Hi, I feel like you will get an opportunity, but then I feel like you will realise you have outgrown this relationship. I feel like he is hurting, however, it looks like in your cards you are moving on and are doing really great….

  13. Laura November 14, 2016 at 2:42 am

Thank you very much for your time. Thats right on point with it, except I haven’t had another chance yet, but I thought that’s what it read also. Thanks again

  14. Emma December 20, 2016 at 12:44 pm

    Hi again Emma,

    I wrote to you before on this same post, and I’m writing to you again about the same guy. We’re still seeing each other, and I felt like we got a little closer, however everything still feels very ‘unsure’. Here the last spread I got with the major arcanas;

    1- High Priestess
    2- The Chariot reversed
    3- The World
    4-The Justice
    5- Death reversed

I think I mentioned earlier than I do the spread the way my mother friend thought me, meaning the first card would represent me, the second him, the third the current situation, the fourth the outcome/conclusion and the firth represents an ‘advice’. Can you please help me interpret this card combination? Thanks!

  15. Inger Bråthen December 20, 2016 at 3:00 pm

Hi, Emma. The chariot reversed as him, could mean he feels unsure about the direction his life is taking him, and he needs to trust himself more. The world and justice are linked in tarot, as they both speak of needing to be very responsible, and to have a lot of balance and trust. Death reversed as advice can mean that you are meant to take a step back and experience new things together. This could be the key to bringing you closer together.

  16. Emma December 21, 2016 at 12:40 am

That would make a lot of sense, however I don’t really understand the ‘step back to get closer’.. Step back as in ‘not be so serious about the relationship’ or in the sense that I should contact him less? I do initiate contact with him more often then he does, but he’s very responsive when I do reach out to him.

I also feel like work is a priority for him right now, I don’t know if I should offer my help or support in his new business or just let him do his thing by himself?
He’s a libra and I’m a sagittarius if that helps

  17. Inger Bråthen December 21, 2016 at 1:35 am

With the death reversed, it can be a good idea to look at the cards before in the Major Arcanas, and that is Hanged Man. The Hanged Man sees things differently, and therefore has different experiences….

  18. Nicola March 10, 2017 at 5:59 pm

    Hi
When asked tarot cards about work issues in a 3 card spread I received
    The lovers
    The hermit
    Death

I can understand the cards separately but what do all 3 say thank you.

  19. Inger Bråthen March 12, 2017 at 4:47 am

Hi, the most important card here is the Hermit. I feel like you are being guided to be a light for others in some way and to seek within for your answers. I also feel like you will detach yourself from the work issue and work more on your own, and in the process, be helping others. I also feel there is a new role for you in your career that is part of your destiny. Everything that has been happening is to take you to the next level where you can grow to your highest potential.

  20. Claire April 5, 2017 at 5:13 am

    Hi Inger,

I asked my cards when I got back with my boyfriend how I could strengthen our relationship. What I had from that was to work on thinking before I speak, thinking with my head before reacting. I’ve done these things and we are a lot lot stronger already. It seems to be moving fast, keep pulling the eight of wands!
I asked again what would happen in my relationship and I had.

    Eight of wands
    The tower
    The lovers
    Judgement
    The sun

I just pulled cards rather than a spread. I know that there are lots of major arcana and that’s significant. These are positive cards for love but how does the tower fit in? And is there anything else you can tell me about the combination?

    Many Thanks,
    Claire

  21. Inger Bråthen April 6, 2017 at 10:08 am

Hi, the tower is showing up when things get shaken up and you might feel the foundation is uncertain. The cards also say not to worry so much in this relationship, and instead enjoy this relationship and to go with the flow 🙂

  22. Martyna April 8, 2017 at 3:39 pm

    Hi Inger.
I’m between two men. They are both completely different. I met them almost same time. I need to choice one of them, but I have big fight in my heart and don’t know which to choice. I pulled 3 tarot cards, but I didn’t get answer for my question.
My cards: world, wheel of fortune and temperance.

  23. Inger Bråthen April 10, 2017 at 8:11 am

Hi, you could have met two soulmates at the same time. Ask the Creator of all to show you who is your Highest and Best soulmate, and it will be clear.

  24. Ale April 15, 2017 at 3:23 pm

Hello I did a 4 cards spread on will he return and I got:
    Situation 8 of cups
    Challenge page of cups reversed
    Advice the sun
    Outcome 9 of pentacles
Doesn’t look too good to me….any advice?

  25. Inger Bråthen April 17, 2017 at 7:11 am

The Sun means that you could have a renew in this relationship. This could all be due to a misunderstanding. That is what I feel strongly. I feel like you need to make things clear to this person who has misunderstood something and once you clear it up it will change everything.

  26. Em April 26, 2017 at 11:37 am

    Hi,

    I asked if I was going to have a relationship with the guy I have a crush on. We met at a party & he sent his friend to get me a drink on him. Since then we spoke 3-4 times over social media, and I was always the one initiating contact first, he would be very responsive & flirty back, however he hasn’t asked me out yet. Not sure if he’s shy or just not that into me. So these were the cards I got ;
1-Two of Cups (representing me in the situation)
2-Seven of Wands (representing him in the situation)
3-Seven of Cups (the current situation)
    4-Page of Cups (the outcome)
    5-The Moon (advice)
Also, judging by this spread should I make a move & ask him out? Or am I better off waiting for a ‘natural encounter’ such as meeting him at another party?

  27. Inger Bråthen April 28, 2017 at 6:05 am

Seven of wands and seven of cups mean he can be unsure about commitment. The moon is telling to wait until he figures out what he wants, and until then, feel free to connect with and date other people 🙂
