The Hanged Man is ruled by Neptune and connected to the water element. Neptune rules drugs of any sort, both legal and illegal. Additionally, Neptune indicates fogs, gasses and sleep disorders, hypnosis and asphyxiation. Well placed, Neptune indicates psychics and idealists, writers, magicians, artists, and musicians. It is the planet for inspiration. Neptune purifies and asks us to sacrifice for the higher good, or for the love we have for one another. Today I have looked up the meaning of the Hanged Man because he appeared to me briefly as I was drifting off to sleep last night. He was hanging from a tree (very like one of the huge Moreton Bay Fig Trees which are in the harborside parks I walk in most evenings). He was hanging with rope around one foot and with his other leg in the crossed position.

The hanged man and the king of wands – the modern man. I find it hard to see the relation of the cards with this term. Could you please elaborate a bit what you mean by that? What kind of advice would this card combination mean on a personal level, or for a future developement?

  3. Inger Bråthen November 30, 2015 at 6:32 pm

I meant a sophisticated man, someone who is emotionally mature.

Hello Inger, I did a three card spread no special place for each card. I just asked a question and then thought about it for a few minutes and then dealed the cards. My question was “Is there anything that the cards feel I need to know” And the cards I deal was 1. The World, 2. The Wheel of Fortune, 3. The High Priestess I am not that good with the cards like I want but I will get there. I would like to know if I am on the right track with what I came up with for the cards that came up. The World the cycle is complete, it is time for me to start a new which is writing, That maybe there may be a trip in the future or a move. The Wheel of fortune a good card things are starting to fall into place, The High Priestess doing what I think that I should be doing and that is writing at the moment that there is going to be some changes in me. So what they are saying to me is that I should be writing and it will be ok. The money thing that I have been worried about will be ok, because there is going to be some kind of changes for the good. Thanks so much Illona

Hi, I feel like you will be doing a lot of research as part of your writing, and you could be traveling to a place where you have a past life connection. This is a place you would have been drawn to from early childhood even. If you can’t travel there, this place will still be a source of inspiration for you as you will be able to research this place, however, I feel you will travel there. The High priestess can be a female ancestor guiding you, and the cards are telling you that when you meditate, you will be able to feel this person around you. This person would have had some psychic gifts most likely and is influencing your life now by almost being like a spirit guide. I pulled some cards for you, and I got three x Tens (Wheel of fortune which is a ten in numerology, ten of cups, and ten of wands), and three x tens can mean publishing, and getting a lot of recognition. The card that followed was the Magician, so I think you have some unique skills and talents that the cards and the female ancestor want you to acknowledge so that you believe in yourself 100 % !! This is part of your destiny 🙂

Hello Inger I just seen the reply this morning. I am thinking about writing about serial killers. I have been doing a lot of research on Jack the Ripper and the Serial Killer here in South central California. They are two very interesting men. So I can agree with that. But my first book will be something like a self help book for women. I do believe that the past life place you are talking about is England. Since I can remember that is a place that I want so much to live. So if I am on the right track it is England. And the female you are talking about I think is my great great grandmother. She was from New Orleans but she believed in a lot of the mystical things. I think that is where I get that from. Wow that is amazing how you pulled the Wheel of fortune and Magician card because lately they have been two cards that have been in just about all of my spreads. I truly believe that I am on the right track with the writing and teaching myself how to read the tarot. Thank you so much for your help and blessings to you Illona.

Hi Inger. I asked how a man felt about me that I haven’t seen or heard from in a year, if he still had feeling s & got the hanged man crossed by ace of cups with ace of swords above, 6 wands next ending in judgment as outcome in a Celtic cross spread. This really confused me. I Think I know the first part, (we never got any where because he never called). What does the rest men? Thank you

Hi. Ace of cups with the Judgement often means feelings are there but buried. You might have to be the one reaching out…
