The first tarot card is number 0. A highly spiritual number or symbol. It is Gods number. It has so much potential. It is the fools journey into the unknown. The fool is too unknowing to be afraid. There is no fear, only a childlike feeling of joy. The fool is not aware of the dangers or about all that can go wrong. He only thinks of what he can experience.Through the 22 major arcana cards, the fool grows and learns and becomes a person, a complete full person full of life experience. He loses his innocence. At least, the innocence that is rooted in ignorance. He ends up enlightened. And through his enlightenment he regains his joy, he has done a full circle, interestingly he is represented by a circle. The 0. It is his destiny. He is again innocent, but this time through knowledge. He becomes the world.

The world is the 22nd card, but because the number starts with 0, the number on the last arcana tarot card is 21. However it is the 22nd card, a master number, it breaks down to a 4, the number of lessons and learning and knowledge. He has been through a lot our fool, and yet he wouldn’t change a thing. He is full. He is complete. He is the master of his own destiny. Everything he lost he regained, he came back stronger after each defeat. He is our Hero. You are the fool on your own life journey. You are the hero in your own life. Each tarot card of the major arcana represents a stage in your life journey. To become a tarot reader you become a story-teller. You connect to the person’s life story and the symbols on the tarot cards will guide you where the person is at in their life.

Tarot card meanings

It is important to trust in the tarot. If you find it difficult to understand what the tarot is communicating to you, pick up the cards and reshuffle them. Ask them the same question and add: Show me in a way that I can understand. Adding those 9 words will change the confusion to clarity. It is that easy!

The best way to learn how to read the tarot is to practise. There are many ways of practising tarot every day, even if you don’t have any clients to read for yet. Check out Intuitive Tarot for plenty of tips on how you can become a better tarot reader.

how do you know what the cards mean together .in my reading were these cards
Knight of penacles six of swords queen of penacles ten of swords the high prestess five of swords seven of penecles nine of penacles queen of wands

  4. Inger Bråthen February 8, 2016 at 4:03 pm

Hi Patricia. It often depends on the question and if you are doing a particular spread the card positions also give a clue. The cards you got have pentacles next to swords which can mean a delay, or a no if question is of yes/no nature.

  5. julie April 8, 2016 at 1:08 am

I have mirrored cards.how do i know when they are reversed or upright

  6. Inger Bråthen April 9, 2016 at 10:24 am

You won’t, but you can read them as positive or negative aspected…so if they are next to a negative card or if the elemental suit is in enemy then it will be more the reversed meaning of the card rather than upright.

  7. Paul June 20, 2016 at 4:40 am

Hi . I just learning tarot 22 card . But sometime I don’t understand the meaning of the star and the moon, the hierophant … in love reading . Kind response .

  15. Inger Bråthen February 28, 2017 at 7:12 am

The star in a love reading means that someone will pull you out of the darkness and into the light. The moon means you will be inspired to be more creative by your relationship. The hierophant means you will have more security. The hierophant often means a traditional relationship and it often shows up before you will meet the person you will marry.

  18. Precious March 23, 2017 at 11:53 am

Hi Inger, I gave myself a reading and I have been reading tarot cards for years but I am confused about this reading and I would like some insight on it. I used your spread; the main obstacle-3 of pentacles, chance of being reunited-Fool, compatible-3 of cups, future influences- Queen of cups and destiny- World, 4 of cups and Ace of Cup. Please respond.

  19. Inger Bråthen March 24, 2017 at 7:08 am

Hi, I feel like you could be reunited, however, you need to release any resentment, especially around how he prioritize around work.

  20. Jen April 20, 2017 at 10:06 pm

    Hi Inger!

I would like to know your interpretation of a King of Cups (reversed) + Fool together together in a reading? Thank you so much!

  21. Tracey thorpe May 3, 2017 at 10:00 pm

Hi Inger I had my tarot cards read for the first time and trying to remember them. First was white knight on horseback, ace of wands, abundance, then like a blackish sphere card which was interpreted as a dark place I’ve been in for 3-4years..very accurate. Then the fool which was interpreted in a good way. If I follow the major change I need to make, big move, the white knight will come to me in April 2018 as pure intentions love and successful relationship, the fool has lightened his load and will be in much happier place?. Mmmm got my interest for sure

  22. Cristina June 1, 2018 at 9:48 pm

    Hi Inger,

I love your youtube channel and your website. I have done a celtic cross reading to see what is happening between a guy and me and this is the result:

1: seven of pentacles ( tower clarifier)
2: eight of cups (moon calarifier)
3: 10 of wands (king of cups clarifier)
4: ace of pentacles (nine of cups clarifier)
5: 8 of swords (four of wands clarifier)
6: hermit (six of cups clarifier)
7: the world (10 of swords clarifier)
8: four of swords (judgement clarifier)
    9: emperor (eight of pentacles)
10: three of swords (page of wands)
11: knight of cups (high priestess)
12: king of pentacles (hanged man)

For the cards, my interpretation is, that my position is that there is a lack of sincerity, and that I have been too optimistic maybe, building fantasies in my head, and he is not ready to go ahead because he is not ready for commitment, or is thinking the things through. At the same time, the conclusion says that he will ask me out at the end and be honest with me, but i am not sure. If you could give me a hand in this it will really be appreciate it.

    Many thanks

  23. Ingie from TW June 2, 2018 at 5:47 pm

Hi, Christina. I think you are spot on, there is a lot of confusion. He has not yet woken up to what he wants. You can see that in 4 of swords with judgment clarifier. He is most likely scared of conflict and it is possible he does not like being challenged. You get the world card which means you are someone who knows yourself. Three of swords as the outcome could mean you have very different communication styles as well.
